From my understanding, American nurses (RNs, anyway) are highly sought after in the UK because our education is more in-depth than a UK nurse. Although UK nurses can perform simple OR procedures, our base knowledge is broader and deeper. At least this is from the last bit of research I did a few years ago. One study even stated that the UK would do well to mimic the education base of the American RN
